Phase 4: Align

New Beliefs & Perception

In Phase 3 you did something courageous, you turned toward what you'd been carrying and began to feel it, process it, and release it. That work changed something in you. Now in Phase 4 we build on that.

This phase is about shifting the lens you see the world through. Not just managing your reactions, but transforming the beliefs and perceptions that create them in the first place. When you learn to become the observer of your thoughts rather than being swept away by them, and when you begin to see life with more openness and less attachment, stress loses its grip. Life gets lighter. And the path to who you're becoming gets clearer.

"You are not your thoughts. You are the one watching them."— Eckhart Tolle

Two Things To Understand In This Phase

01
You are not your thoughts

Most people live completely identified with their thoughts: believing every one, reacting to every story, treating every worry as fact. But thoughts are just events passing through your awareness. They are not you. When you learn to observe your thoughts without becoming them, something profound shifts. The nervous system calms. Stress responses become less automatic. You stop being pulled into every small thing that crosses your mind, and you start living from a place of genuine presence instead. When you approach life with genuine openness and curiosity, you begin to see things differently.

It speaks through tension, fatigue, crashes, flares, and brain fog. This can be difficult to see at first, because you simply haven't been taught to listen. That changes now.

Awareness is the first step. Everything else in this program builds from here.

02

Most stress is created by the stories we tell

A large portion of our daily stress doesn't come from what actually happens, it comes from what we make it mean. We take things personally that have nothing to do with us. We fill in gaps with assumptions that turn out to be wrong. We react to stories our minds invented. Learning to catch the story before it takes hold, and choosing to see more clearly, is one of the most practical tools for lasting nervous system regulation. What once felt like a threat becomes something you can simply observe. What once triggered a stress response becomes something you can move through with ease.

Four Concepts

These are simple, but powerful shifts we use in this
phase to reduce unnecessary stress at the source

Don't take anything personally

What others say and do is a projection of their own reality: their own fears, their own wounds, their own story. When you stop taking things personally, you free yourself from an enormous amount of unnecessary pain. Most of what stings isn't actually about you. The moment you truly understand this, other people's behavior loses its power to derail you.

Don't make assumptions

We assume we know what people mean, what they think, what will happen, and then we react to those assumptions as if they were fact. This is one of the most common sources of unnecessary stress and conflict. The antidote is simple but not always easy: ask the question instead of filling in the answer. Clarity is always more powerful than assumption.

Be skeptical but learn to listen

Question your beliefs, but stay open to truth. Not everything you believe about yourself, your body, or your past is true. Some of those beliefs were formed in childhood, in pain, or under pressure. Being skeptical means you stop accepting old stories as permanent truth. Learning to listen means you stay open to what's actually true right now.

Abstract thinking

When we're stressed, our thinking narrows. Small things feel enormous and we lose perspective on what actually matters. Abstract thinking is the practice of deliberately zooming out: stepping back from the details to see the bigger picture, the longer arc, the wider context. It's a skill that gets stronger with practice and one of the most effective ways to stop unnecessary stress before it starts.

When something feels overwhelming, zoom out. Notice the difference between facts and the interpretations layered on top of them, they are rarely the same thing. Practice seeing situations from multiple perspectives before reacting. The view from further back almost always changes what you see.

ANTs

Automatic Negative Thoughts

Let’s talk about Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTs), those pesky thoughts that sneak into your mind and hold you back from reaching your full potential. Acting like sneaky saboteurs, ANTs often emerge suddenly, twisting your perception of reality and making you feel bad about yourself. They create a cycle of negativity that can be hard to escape.

These thoughts might whisper that you're not good enough, that you'll fail, or that something bad will definitely happen. The tricky part is that they happen so quickly that you might not even realize they're occurring. By learning to recognize and challenge these ANTs, you can rewire your brain for success. Imagine catching these negative thoughts in their tracks and transforming them into positive, empowering beliefs.

Challenging negative thoughts takes practice, but the benefits are significant. As you become more skilled at recognizing and reframing these thoughts, you'll feel more confident, handle stress more effectively, and approach problems with a clearer, more positive mindset. By

becoming aware of these ANTs and questioning their validity, you can break free from their grip and open yourself up to new possibilities— like unlocking a door to a brighter, more optimistic you.

Today, it's time to train your brain to be your biggest cheerleader instead of your worst critic. So, squash those ANTs and unleash your true potential!

Gentle Detox Support, What To Expect

As your body integrates these shifts, you may notice detox symptoms. These are normal signs that your body is actively clearing and recalibrating, only about 10% of people experience them, and they typically only last a few days.

Dehydration is one of the biggest contributing factors, so keep up with your water and electrolytes. If symptoms feel intense or continue, slow down, increase your intake, and reach out to us.

Your Practice

Seeing Thoughts Differently

This phase you begin practicing one of the most transformative skills you can learn, the ability to step back from your thoughts and simply observe them. Not analyze them, not fight them, not believe every one of them. Just notice. You'll need a pen a paper for this practice.

1. Become Aware of Your Thoughts

Look for your ANTS. Examples of ANTS include:

  • "I'm so stupid."

  • "I can't do this."

  • "No one likes me."

Take a few moments to sit quietly and reflect on your thoughts. Ask

yourself:

What are your most common negative thoughts?

How do these thoughts make you feel?

2. Transform the Thoughts

Here’s some examples of transforming negative thoughts into

positive ones:

Positive Thought

I am a valuable person.

I have accomplished many things.

I do many things well.

I am improving every day.

I am capable of success.

I am learning from my setbacks.

I am enough just as I am.

I choose to focus on the positives.

ANTs Thought

I am not worth anything.

I have never accomplished anything.

I always make mistakes.

I can’t do anything right.

I'm unsuccessful.

I'm such a failure at everything I do.

I'm not good enough.

I'm always anxious and worried.

Now, transform your negative thoughts into more positive ones.

List your NEGATIVE THOUGHT and then replace it with a POSITIVE THOUGHT

Becoming the Observer

Building on the observer practice, this week we apply what you've been learning to the stories and assumptions that quietly create stress in everyday life. Use these questions as daily tools, carry them with you and notice what they surface.

Don't take anything personally

When something stings, ask yourself: "Is this actually about me, or is this about them?"

Be skeptical but learn to listen

When a strong belief arises, ask: "Is this actually true, or is this just a story I've been telling for a long time?"

Don't make assumptions

Notice when you're filling in gaps with a story. What are you making up right now, and what question could you ask instead?

Abstract thinking

  • When something feels stressful, ask: "Will this matter in a year? In five years?"

  • Practice seeing situations from multiple perspectives before reacting

  • Notice the difference between facts and interpretations, they are rarely the same thing

  • Ask yourself: "What is the most generous interpretation of this situation?"

Why This Matters

If you don’t change how you see things…
you’ll keep recreating the same stress patterns, even in a healthier body.

This phase makes sure that doesn’t happen.

The Shift

The shifts in this phase are quieter than the ones before. You won't always feel them happening in the moment. But over time you'll notice that things that used to derail you simply don't anymore. That you move through the day with more ease. That your mind feels less cluttered.

That's not a small change. That's a completely different way of living.

You are becoming someone who sees clearly, responds thoughtfully, and lives with an open mind.
